Buy Fresh Buy Local Food Guide
In this guide, you will find locally grown products produced and sold in the Southeast Iowa Food Hub region. In past years there have been separate Buy Fresh Buy Local directories published in several of the SE Iowa Food Hub areas. This year, we are combining efforts and publishing just one directory for 13 southeast Iowa counties. The SE Iowa Food Hub Buy Fresh Buy Local Chapter now includes: Appanoose, Davis, Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren, Wapello, & Washington Counties.
Save this booklet and use it all year! The guide will help you find asparagus and strawberries early in the season. It will take you through sweet corn and watermelon… then on to tomatoes and peppers…peas and beans…. then finally apples and pumpkins. There are meat producers and egg/poultry families, we have honey and nut gatherers… There are even a few processors of Jellies and pies and donuts and bread.
